With the intensification of the greenhouse effect, and the rising price of energy. The technology continues to mature, and the price of solar energy systems continues to decline, which has become a major trend in the green energy market.
However, how much power to choose a solar system has troubled many friends who intend to buy a solar system. In fact, this power refers to the inverter power.
The inverter is known as the “heart” of the solar system, its importance is self-evident. Today we will introduce how to determine the appropriate power of the inverter.
How to determine the appropriate power of the power inverter?
The power rating of a power inverter is always in W(VA/ volts x amps). Next we do a mathematical calculation to determine how much power is needed for the inverter.
How to calculate and choose the right size inverter?
Example:
For example, a family has the following electrical appliances, the rated power of each electrical appliance is as follows:
5 LED lights :5 x 20W = 100W
1 LCD TV :120W
1 laptop :50W
2 phone chargers :2 15W = 30W
1 rice cooker: 600W
The power of the inverter is obtained in just three steps.
Step 1:
Calculate the total fixed power (W) of all appliances.
100W+120W+50W+30W+600W =900W
Step 2:
Ideally, the 650W load point needs a 650W inverter, but because many factors such as line loss, temperature and other factors will affect the efficiency of the inverter, it is impossible to achieve a 100% conversion rate inverter.
In general, the efficiency of the inverter is 70%-80%, and high-quality inverters, such as QUARKE, SIEMENS, Growatt and other brands of inverters, the efficiency can be 90%-95%.
To find the right inverter power W(volts × amps), we divide the calculated power rating by the inverter efficiency. The formula is as follows:
Watt power = Volts x amps ÷ Inverter (efficiency)
Watt power = 900W ÷ 0.9 = 1000W.
Step 3:
Finally, consider that some additional load appliances may be added in the future, and in order to protect the inverter from voltage spikes and power surges. We choose the inverter with a safety factor of 1.25, so we end up with the right inverter power.
The right size inverter = 1000 watts x 1.25 =1250 watts
Therefore, for families with a total power of 900W load appliances, the most suitable inverter power should be 1250w.
However, it should be noted that the load above is ordinary electrical appliances, if the home has air conditioning, fans, refrigerators, motors and other inductive electrical appliances, their peak power at start may be 2-5 times the rated power. Then the above method of calculating the power of the inverter is obviously not applicable.
Those who have inductive load appliances, how to choose the inverter power, pay attention to 「QUARKECO」, the next issue will be revealed for you.
